In 2023 I started building localized AI agents for Airbnb customer service — the initial system used Anthropic's MCP when it first came out, giving each property its own context layer so the AI could handle guest messages in Japanese, English, and Thai without canned responses. As the stack matured I migrated to OpenClaw for better flexibility. The system now runs across 24 Airbnbs in Japan and Thailand, handling check-in coordination, local questions, and issue triage with human escalation built in.
